Diaphragm Pumps
Suitable for various media, dry-running, for abrasive or viscous liquids.
Diaphragm pumps
The self-priming capability is particularly useful in situations where the pump has to draw in the pumped liquid from a lower point or from a container without the medium being able to be supplied from outside. This enables the pump to start the delivery process automatically and maintain the flow of liquid without any additional measures having to be taken.
Our self-priming diaphragm pumps are advantageous in various applications due to their properties:
- Mobile applications: In applications where the pump is used in different locations, self-priming can facilitate the starting process without the need for manual filling.
- Remote locations: In locations where access to a constant supply source is limited, self-priming pumps can be used to draw the fluid from a tank or source.
- Emergency operation: In emergency situations where a quick response is required, self-priming pumps can start immediately and initiate the pumping process.
- Low-lying containers: If the pumped liquid is stored in a low-lying container, self-priming pumps can suck in the liquid efficiently without the need for manual pre-filling.
- Pump: Single or multi-cylinder diaphragm pump with ball or flap valves, gearbox in oil bath, V-belt or direct drive, connecting rods and crankshaft protection
- Drive: Single-cylinder air cooler, diesel engine/petrol engine or electric motor.
- Self-priming and insensitive to air: Dry suction up to 6 m. Suction height during operation up to 8 m. Insensitive to impurities in the conveyed material. No blockages thanks to large, free passages and ball valves.
- Glandless, no shaft seal that can leak. This means there are no intake problems.
- Dry-running safe: No warm-up and seizing of moving parts.
- Conveying heights: up to 12 m
- Flow rates: up to 80 m³/h
The operation of the self-priming diaphragm pumps from DIA Pumpen is based on the design and operation of the pump. The movement of the diaphragm creates a vacuum in the pump housing, which enables the pump to suck in the pumped liquid from below and draw it into the pump chamber. This process enables the pump to maintain the liquid flow even if the pump inlet is above the liquid level.
It is therefore important to observe the technical specifications and application notes of the respective pump to ensure that it meets the requirements of the intended application. DIA Pumpen offers you a large selection of high-quality diaphragm pumps.
Areas of application
Industrial self-priming diaphragm pumps are used in a variety of applications that place specific demands on dosing accuracy, chemical resistance and handling of different media. The most important areas of application are
- Agriculture: Irrigation systems in which the pump draws water from low-lying reservoirs or water sources.
- Construction industry: Dewatering tasks on construction sites where the pump extracts water from trenches or low-lying areas.
- Emergency operation: In emergency situations, such as flooding or leaks, self-priming diaphragm pumps enable a rapid response.
- Mobile applications: For mobile units, such as tankers or mobile cleaning units, these pumps allow liquids to be drawn in without manual filling.
- Waste water disposal: In places without continuous drainage, self-priming diaphragm pumps enable the suction and disposal of liquids.
- Shipping: Drainage or supply of water for ships where the water is difficult to access due to the position of the ship.
- Chemical industry: For dosing and conveying chemicals where automatic and reliable suction is required.
- Environmental technology: Self-priming diaphragm pumps are used in waste water treatment, air purification and other environmental protection applications.
The advantage of these pumps is that they can draw in liquids independently without the need for manual pre-filling. This makes them particularly useful in situations where access to the pumped liquid is limited or automatic start and operation is required.
